About IKEA
IKEA was founded in Sweden in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, who was 17 years old at the time. He was selling small household goods like pens, picture frames, wallets, and other items that people use in their everyday lives. Almhult, where IKEA began, is a relatively poor community, which is why the brand has become known for being innovative and minimalistic. As the retail concept grew, Kamprad created the IKEA catalog, allowing individuals from further away to purchase the growing collection of items he sold. Eventually, he was able to open a showroom, and the store took off. It's now a popular furniture brand worldwide, with hundreds of stores across the globe and more opening each year.
